How long does it take to get my loved ones Footprint setup?
Once you have chosen the Footprint features you would like to memorialize your loved one, setting up their Footprint only takes a few minutes. After you've completed the checkout process you will receive your Footprint placard in the mail within 3 to 5 business days with installation instructions. Remember you can return at any time to update your loved one's Footprint, visit their memorial wall, and build relationships with others who are connected with your loved one.
How is the Footprint placard affixed to the headstone?
The Footprint placard is affixed to the headstone by removing the protective covering from the adhesive tape on the back of the placard. The adhesive tape is designed to withstand continuous outdoor exposure to temperature fluctuation from -40F to +300F.
Can you affix the Footprint placard to any type of headstone?
While the Footprint placard can be affixed to almost any surface, caution should be used with very old deteriorating headstones.
What type of barcode technology is used on the Footprint placard?
The Footprint placard uses a Quick Response barcode, better known as a QR Code. A QR Code is a two-dimensional code, readable by any mobile phone with a camera or a smartphone with the appropriate app installed. QR codes were created in Japan by Toyota subsidiary Denso-Wave in 1994. The QR code is one of the most used types of two-dimensional barcodes in the world.
Which barcode scanner app should I use with my phone?
There are currently apps available for most popular phones. We recommend using the free ScanLife app for scanning Footprint placards. To get ScanLife on your phone visit their website for installation instructions for your specific phone. You can also get ScanLife for your iPhone from the App Store. If you find your phone is not supported by the ScanLife app visit Mobile Barcodes website for a comprehensive list of phones and apps.
Besides headstones what other places can Footprint placards be placed?
Footprint placards make nice additions to many types of memorials, such as; monument, memorial benches in parks, golf courses and cemeteries, interior and exterior memorial plaques, etc. Any place your loved one is memorialized is a fitting location for a Footprint placard to share their legacy.
How does weather affect the Footprint placard?
The Footprint placard has been specifically designed to withstand the harsh elements of extreme weather changes. The placard itself is made from anodized aluminum which can be nearly as hard as diamond under the right anodizing process. Many modern buildings use anodized aluminum in places where the metal framework is exposed to the elements. Because of its strength and durability, anodized aluminum is also used in many of the satellites circling the Earth to protect them from space debris as well as the extreme temperatures. The automobile industry relies heavily on anodized aluminum for trims and protective housings for exposed parts. My parents share a headstone can I put links to two individuals on one Footprint placard?
Only one link can be contained within a single Footprint placard. In most cases applying two placards provides an easy solution as well as provides a clear distinction between the unique lives of individuals who share the headstone.
Can I purchase Footprints from anywhere other than the Timeless Footsteps website?
Currently all Footprint versions are only available through the Timeless Footsteps website. Premium Footprints are also available through a select group of funeral homes and cemeteries.
